Volunteer roles available with East Grinstead in Bloom
21 November 2016
East Grinstead in Bloom works throughout the year to make the outside spaces in East Grinstead attractive for local people and visitors and suitable habitats for wildlife. We have won a number of awards in the annual Britain in Bloom competition.
We are all enthusiastic volunteers and now need to fill a number of volunteering roles. We are looking for:
- Volunteers to plant, weed and tidy our many beds and borders around East Grinstead – enthusiasm is far more important than experience!
- A Volunteer Coordinator – to make sure our volunteers feel valued. You will direct volunteers to where they are needed, and keep in regular contact with them
- A Fundraiser – someone happy to organise some fundraising events, source raffle prizes etc.
- Committee members to help decide the work we should undertake
Please phone or email Julie Mockford, Chairman, East Grinstead in Bloom on 01342 325552 or chairman@eastgrinsteadinbloom.org.uk.

Judging fast approaching – volunteers needed!
14 June 2016
The judging season for South and South East in Bloom is fast approaching with some judging taking place in June and the rest on 12th and 14th June.
Needless to say there is a great deal to be done to make our flower beds and open areas as attractive as possible. We need as many volunteers as possible to clear weeds and do some planting. Even a couple of hours on a Sunday would help.
Work in the Compass Garden at Mt Noddy takes place on the 1st Sunday of the month at 10am. Just turn up!
Work at Hurst Farm Pond takes place on the second Sunday of the month at 2pm. Just turn up!
Equipment can be provided, but if you have some garden tools – gloves, spades, trowels and are able to bring them, please do so.
Work on the other gardens, including the station beds takes place on other Sundays and at other times.
