Millennium Garden

The Millennium Garden is another It’s Your Neighbourhood project and exists to commemorate the town’s twinning links. The plaque in the garden suggests visitors “Sit, ponder and watch the world go by“.

Opened by Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Margaret Collins on 28 August 1999, the garden is managed by East Grinstead In Bloom,  the garden was designed by Jonathan Averill.

A small group of volunteers are responsible for the upkeep of the garden.

The Statue in the centre of the garden was designed by Jonathan Averill and constructed by Ray Ellis and shows the Meridian Line and crests of our five twin towns.
